How to Kill the Roots Growing in Your Sewer Lines

First of all, why would you even want to kill the roots within your sewer lines? Let’s start there.

For starters, root intrusion within your sewer or septic lines restricts flow and causes total blockages. These blockages can eventually destroy a sewer or septic system and replacing those will surely cost you thousands (at least).

These are roots we pulled out of a sewer line that were causing a major back up.

That’s where we come in. You might first notice consistent back ups in your sewer lines and give us a call. We’ll come in and yes, we can clear your lines– we can even put a camera in there and show you what’s going on– but if you don’t treat the issue, it will continue to happen. JNM Sewer uses a special mixture that we pour down your pipes (don’t worry it won’t hurt your pipes or above ground gardens). It does not contain diquat dibromide, copper sulfate or metam sodium.

This mixture kills the roots on contact and the dead roots decay over time. Finally they flow out of the pipe over time and the pipe is restored to full functionality. These chemicals leave a shielding layer on the pipe walls to prevent future root growth.

This alternative is more cost effective and successful as compared to mechanically cutting roots (which will be encouraged to grow back).
