Using a camera is beneficial in detecting true causes of distress in your pipes. Using a specialized, waterproof camera, we can get up close and personal with the lines under your ground (even those located under your home’s foundation)!
We inspect visually, in real time, and share those video findings with you, the customer. This allows us to diagnose problems accurately and provide the best and most efficient course of action. After our work has been completed, we can then use the video to ensure all issues have been tackled!
Some of the problems we might come across during a video inspection involve:
Leaks and drain backups can be from physically damaged pipes. This can be broken or cracked pipes. Sometimes the ground may shift, and the drain lines might offset. This is often a common culprit. In these cases, we might visually inspect, discover the problem and provide that information to a trusted plumber who will quickly solve your issue.
In other cases, we might find the lines are clogged with waste that shouldn’t have been thrown down your drain (again, think WIPES or foreign objects)! Then, there are times we’ll discover that the tree roots broke through your drain lines.
Lastly, we’ll sometimes uncover the simple fact that the pipes are aged — the result of the natural lifetime of a pipe. Corrosion and deterioration are typical after many years of running a plumbing system.
In any of these cases, you’ll be able to quickly detect the cause of the problem and what parts will be required to fix it. Then you can check and make sure it’s really fixed!
